Today was National Freelancers Day

November 23rd is National Freelancers Day, so grab your nearest freelancer and give them a nice big hug. Or a cup of tea. Or a commission. Whatever takes your fancy!

Did you know that freelancers in managerial, professional and semi-professional occupations contributed £82 billion to UK GDP in 2008? Freelancers of the world, be proud of your freelance status and enjoy your day!

PCG have officially declared today National Freelancers Day to raise the profile, recognise the contribution and reward the flexibility of freelancers working across the UK.

Do you work with freelancers? What's the benefit for you: is it the flexibility, the lack of overheads, the creative input or the contacts they bring? Are you a freelancer? What do you enjoy most about being freelance?

Nicola Joyce is a local freelance copywriter and journalist. She's been freelance since 2004 and, whilst there have been some tough and stressful times, she wouldn't change it for the world.

How are you celebrating National Freelancers Day
